So after having a new computer for about 9 months their support says I may need to buy a computer, hmph sounds like a (bad) deal to me. The machine is or should be still under warranty and as it was supplied direct then perhaps they may like to tell me how to return the unit or where to send it. Having a machine that support says may be a damaged or defective board and suggesting that I purchase a new one whilst under warranty, does NOT inspire confidence.
Going by the event logs I get :-Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5A85&SUBSYS_22128086&REV_0B\3&11583659&1&10 had a problem starting. That to me is a problem with a "chip" Therefore this machine needs replacing under warranty!
