AK1 4k not working at 60Hz

Hi,

Recently bought an AK1 and cannot get it to work at 60Hz, 30 is the maximum it will do.

Am I missing some drivers? It's not the cable or anything else, tested with a different PC to be sure and that works absolutely fine at 60Hz.

Thanks!

As far as I know, the AK1 isn't capable of 4K at 60, but rather only at 30. I believe the J3455 processor with the HD500 graphics is limited to this.

I'm not positive of the following, but it may be capable of 3840 x 2160 at 60, which is slightly less resolution than the full 4K of 4096 x 2160.

Hi, thanks for your response.

Sorry I did mean 3840 x 2160 at 60, but still can't achieve it. Should be able to do it out the box, or do I need to install some drivers?

I think you should be able to out of the box, but I'm not positive of that. Hopefully the admin or someone else who's done this will reply with advice on what to do.

Edit: I should add that I believe the admin is now off for the weekend, so it may be a couple of days before he replies.

Although the Intel HD Graphics 500 hardware mostly supports 4k60 hardware-based decoding, it only supports 4k60 encoding using H.264. Additionally, 4k60 via HDMI requires HDMI port version 2.0 or greater. Keep in mind, Intel HD Graphics 500 is found in multiple CPU packages, hence the seemingly conflicting specs listed in the documents referenced below. Looking at table 3-9 for the J3455 suggests the CPU package itself only supports 4k30 due to its HDMI v1.4b limitation.

See the spec sheets for your model of Intel CPU here:

The HD Graphics 500 contained within the Intel Celeron J3455 CPU support the following:
