AK2: Installing Windows 7, Keyboard inoperational

Recently purchased an AK2 from Amazon. I need to install Windows 7 on this machine instead of Windows 10. However, I am unable to start the installation from my USB drive because the keyboard does not function after the BIOS posts. I need to "press any key to boot USB..." but the pc does not register anything I am pressing. The keyboard functions fine within the BIOS. I am able to select and change settings (Legacy USB is enabled), and Legacy boot is also enabled. But after I exit the BIOS, the keyboard stops working. I've tried other wired USB keyboards and tried different USB ports. I can also see the Num Lock light is lit on the keyboard, so it is receiving power. Your help is appreciated!

When booting, press DEL to enter the BIOS. Select the U disk drive in the first boot option of BOOT. There will be some incompatible drivers when installing windows7, and Microsoft is no longer updating and optimizing win7 and win8.

Yes, this I've done. It first loads the U drive and prompts "Press any key to boot from USB..." When I am unable to do so, the system then boots from internal storage. The system doesn't recognize "any key" being pressed, even though the keyboard works fine within the bios.

Hello, this means that the machine does not recognize the system of the U disk. For your best experience, we recommend that you install Win10. Because we have prepared an official image of Win1 for you, it contains all the drivers, which will make your use very convenient. In Win7, we cannot judge whether the file you downloaded is correct, and after entering the desktop, you need to install the driver correctly before you can use it normally, which is very troublesome...

I'm referring to the time after the BIOS POST and before the system loads. If booting from a cd drive, rescue disk, etc., you are often given an option to press a key to boot from it. If no key is pressed, then it will continue to load the operating system from C drive.
But this doesn't matter anymore since I've decided to return the unit. With this keyboard problem along with the constant up/down whirlybird of a fan, this product was not for me. Thanks anyway.
