$(DEFAULT_STRING) as the System Serial Number inside the BIOS seems very strange.
what do you thinks of it ?
should i send-it back to the resealer ?

there are many versions of the Ubuntu system, and the compatibility may be poor. You can try the version Ubuntu-16.04.4-desktop-amd64 provided by ACEPC

Not a lot, "LTS" should be the minimun.
So the choice is between a non unusable slow and buggy windows 10 or an not supported OS.
not very existing.
i will send it back to the reserller and switch to a more supported hardware.
