I'd like to install an extra SSD on my GK2. (On the motherboard, it says GK1 v1.1)
I'm confused whether this model uses M.2 SATA or M.2 NVME. Please advise.

And PLEASE don't give me any crap that I can install a 2.5" SATA SSD. I already have that installed.

I installed an M.2 SATA, 1TB SSD, but my machine (GK2, but says GK1 v1.1 on the board) doesn't recognize it. Is there a size limit to the M.2 slot?

I can confirm that it is not a faulty or misinstalled SSD since the drive works on other machines.

I'm pretty sure the limit is 512GB, but I'm not 100% positive of that.

Hopefully the admin will reply with a definitive answer.

Hello, please first try to partition the new hard disk, which may solve your problem. In the initial production, we also produced M.2Nvme format hard drives, which would cause a lot of misunderstandings. Last year we unified the hard drives in M.2sata format. Please tell me your purchase time so that we can confirm the batch. Regarding the motherboard display, the GK series displays GK1 motherboards, which takes into account compatibility issues. We currently have no restrictions on the capacity of hard drives. You can use it with confidence.

My GK2 unit was purchased on January 21st 2019 on Amazon.

On the motherboard, there is a barcode label that has the production date: 2018.08.29

Also on the motherboard is the revision date: GK1_V1.1 2018.05.08

This is not about partitioning the drive. I have already done that from another machine and it works. But when I install the SSD to my GK2, it doesn't show up anywhere. Not in the BIOS, and not in the windows drive manager.

In theory, there is no limit to the hard disk. Usually, the official description is that the maximum support is 1TB or TF128GB, but larger memory can also be recognized. Official propaganda is usually conservative. I personally do not use such a large hard drive. I think 1TB is big enough.

Then it's not an issue with the SSD capacity.
It's either that the slot is for NVME or the slot is broken/disabled.

Hello, I’m sorry for our negligence. In 19 years, we made the Nvme protocol slot, which gave the GK3 slot two protocols. Sorry for your misunderstanding. After judgment, this slot is suitable for M .2Nvme protocol hard disk.
