Wrong Date & Time after Shutdown

Hello all,

I own an ACEPC AK2 and am very satisfied (even if the fan is very very loud).

However, I now have the following problem. When I switch off my computer, the clock stops exactly at that moment. When I restart the computer the next day, the time and date are no longer correct (time and date = switch-off time).

I can then set the time and date via the Windows 10 settings and e.g. synchronisation of the time via the Internet. The next time I restart, everything is wrong again.

What can I do?

P.S. However, when the computer is switched on, the clock runs normally ...

schaufma,

It sounds like either the CMOS battery is 'dying' or the connection isn't strong. If you know how to get inside the unit, I would make sure that the plug for the CMOS battery is snugly in place. You may even want to remove the plug and reinsert it.

Just be careful, of course.

The admin may have other suggestions.

Two possibilities come to mind.
First, check the buffer battery it may be gone.
Second, check the computer does reach the set time server and is not blocked by a firewall.

Hello!

first thank you for your help!

I do not think it's the battery! Because then the BIOS settings should also be lost, right?

The Internet connection to the time server or to my router (which can also act as an Internet time server) already exists at the start of the computer and as already written a manual time synchronization works without problems.

I suspect there rather an EFI / BIOS error or also a wrong setting in the BIOS. It could also be a Windows 10 problem. I think I remember that the problem started after the last Windows update.

In any case, it is extremely annoying!

Perhaps the manufacturer support can actually support here fastest.

Greetings

Markus

They likely would. However, if your BIOS settings are already at their default, you may not see any indication of this happening.

Hello, you can try to discharge the BIOS, which can solve your problem, please refer to this tutorial:

Hello,

yes, I can try that ...

Even if I think it is something else.

The BIOS itself keeps its settings!
