USB2 instead of USB3(!) on NiPoGi E2 Mini PCΙntel Alder Lake-N97

Post by hum4all »

Hi, I have an NiPoGi E2 Mini PCΙntel Alder Lake-N97.

If I attach ANY USB device on ANY usb port (USB#1 or USB#2 that are usb3 ports in front side, or USB#3 or USB#4 that are usb2 port on left side), the usb device results to be connected to the same xHCI Host Controller USB2.0

The xHCI Host Controller USB3.1 seems not to be conneted to the two USB ports in front side of the case

I need to have my two USB 3.1 port front side to be managed by xHCI Host Controller USB3.1!!!
Is there a solution in BIOS settings to solve these problem or other issues?

Thank you.

I doubt that is a problem the BIOS can fix. The USB ports are connected to the motherboard through a specific controller. Have you checked in the Device Manager to see how they connect?

You can go to View > "Devices by connection" to see the tree showing how everything is connected. My USB3 devices are all under the ACPI>PCI Express Root Complex>PCI Express Root Port, then down through the specific USB controllers. It might take some searching to find everything. Or, you can keep the page on the View "devices by type" and select your USB device, like a thumb drive connected to the USB3 port, then when you choose the "by connection" view, it'll still be selected on that device.

Try to grab some screen shots to show what you're seeing.
