Issue with GK3 Plus...

Post by Sati71 »

Hello!
I bought a repackaged gk3 plus mini pc.
When I first used it (this is the second time because someone had already left their profile on it), I reset win 11 and installed 1-2 programs. Everything went smoothly. The next day it started up smoothly too...
After that it was in a drawer for 2 weeks, I wanted to put it into service after the holidays. It didn't turn on anymore.
I searched the internet, read in forums and got help here from barry777, but I'm at a dead end.
If I take out the cmos battery and turn it on without an adapter and then plug in the adapter, it starts automatically (bios setting). I tried cmos reset, reconnected it, replaced the battery 1-2 times, it starts but if the adapter is on, it won't start for 2-3 days only if the battery is off, adapter off, power button (I think this de-energizes the cmos) and adapter back on and it starts automatically.
I haven't tried the bios reset yet, I'm afraid if the default setting is not to start after a power outage, it may never start again.
Can anyone help with any ideas for a solution?

What is the "adapter" you're referring to in your description?

Edit: I've moved your post into its own topic.

When it boots into the BIOS, is it showing the SSD as the First Boot Device in the Boot section? It'll probably show as Windows Boot Manager. The reason I ask is that it almost sounds like it's not seeing the drive anymore to boot to.

Hi
#1 Hard Disk: Windows Boot Manager (P1: RS512GSSD310 )-Thats correct
#2 NVME
#3 CD/DVD
#4 USB Device
#5 Network

Boot config
State after G3 S5 State Is thats means will not start after reseting every power?
Wake System from S5 disa.
Network Stack disa.
Fast Boot disa.

Some more info: with cmos (button)battery connected it doesn't start after the disconnect and reconnect the power supply .... only when it removed
I feel the problem comes somewhere around the cmos and doesnt start the bios is it possible? if the cmos not under power it start the bios?
do you think can trouble with m.2 sata ssd or the memory modul?

It doesn't look like the drive is the problem.

I'd reach out to barry, a tech for the company, at barry@minipcunion.com. Be aware that he's likely on vacation right now due to the Chinese New Year, so it may be a few days before he reaches out to you.
