Hello,

Just got the new RX16 a few days ago. Doesn't break the bank and is a good replacement for my previous laptop. But I'm already eying on adding a eGPU in a month or so, so that I can play with more GPU power/do Blender more efficiently.

There are 2 ways to connect a eGPU: Using a NVME port (the free one) and using a Oculink cable. Cheapest option,n but this implies that I have to drill aa hole in the chassis and whatsoever. Far from ideal. The other solution is to use a thunderbolt 3 cable. But therefore we need a compatible port. I see that there is a "Type-C(Full)" port. What does that mean? I see online different things, but it isn't clear if this port would be able to connect via thunderbolt, and what data transfer.

Cheers

The Type-C port on the RX16 does not support external graphics cards. The port supports the USB 3.2 Gen2 protocol (with a maximum data transfer speed of 10Gbps) and is capable of audio and video transmission.

Thank you very much vour your quick answer! Not a biggie, I just have to find a way to discretely add the oculink port but this shouldn't be too hard
