CK10 i5 113200H SSD issue

Post by JSG63 »

Hi,
I bougth last week from Amazon Spain a minpc CK10 with i5 113200H, 16 MB, 512 GB M2 SSD.
The first impressions very good: very quiet and suffucient for my use.
But now I have a major issue that I think is related to the limited BIOS this computer have: when add an internal SAMSUNG QVO 2TB SSD, it seems not identified by BIOS. Infact Windows 11 issued it as an external drive and assigned it as "SAMSUNG SSD 870 QVO 2TB USB Device" on Device Manager.
Also appears 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' icon as when we mount an USB drive.
The Samsung Magician Software also sees it as a USB drive and can't manage SSD...
Also performance of SSD is quite limited with awful speeds.
Tried a lot of things with no success and I even change internal SAMSUNG SSD by a Crutial SSD from my son computer.
Bios can't recognize either and Windows also sees it as USB external drive.

Can you help?

You can use the DiskGenius partition tool
Link:
Open the tool, you can see all the hard disks on the left, click on SAMSUNG QVO 2TB SSD, and then select Quick Partition on the top, select GUID for the partition table type (this type of partition can be recognized in the bios), and format it after confirmation. These steps can also be used for other hard drives.
If the steps are invalid, it is recommended to replace the SATA cable;
If the replacement of the SATA cable does not work, there may be a hardware failure. Please contact the service specialist of the merchant for the purchase order on Amazon.

Hi,
Many thanks for your reply.
Unforrtunately DiskGenius although being a nice tool doesn't solve any problem.
I already had converted Samsung SSD drive to GPT with Mini Disk Partition Tool, but even so tried deinstall device disk and give DisKGenius a chance.
DiskGenius also referred Adapter Type as USB and "Eject Generic USB 3.0 to Sata Bridge" still appears in options to Safely Remove Hardware. Not a nice thing to have for an internal drive...

I will buy another Sata cable but I really think this a BIOS problem. Most of the reading I've done points to a BIOS problem and because of that Windows can't properply use SAMSUNG SSD as a SATA drive, so this drive is being used with some speed limitations.
Also Nipogi CK10 Bios is very limited, with lack of many support options other BIOS computers have.
Could something be done on CK10 BIOS update?

Thanks,

Joao

I test with partition tool: DiskGenius
All hard disks will be displayed on the left side of the list (if not displayed, please check the compatible hard disk type of the device), right-click GPT to select a new hard disk, and select New Partition (you can check to create ESP and MSR partitions at the same time).
Note 1: MSR partition (Microsoft Reserved Partition) is a partition used to reserve backup space on a GPT disk. For example, this space is used when converting a disk to dynamic.
Note 2: ESP partition (UFFI system partition) is used for computer systems that use UFFI BIOS to start the operating system. This partition stores boot management programs, drivers, system maintenance tools, etc.
Note 3: If the computer uses the UFFI system, or may use the current disk to start the system on the UFFI system in the future, you need to create an ESP partition. (Mini PC is UFFI system)
Suggest a new partition, this step is checked by default, click OK. At this time, the hard disk has not been formatted, click the upper left corner to save the modification, click Yes in the pop-up window, and you can use the new disk.
