I purchased the AMR5 on march 6 2023 with the intent of using it as a Plex server . While viewing movies/tv-shows via Plex the pc shuts itself off after approximately 3 hour of use . Iv already adjusted the sleep mode yet this continues to occur is there a solution for this or is it a flaw in the system itself ?

Is there any way you can install something like Core Temp to see if it might be heat related? I don't use Plex, so I'm not sure what types of additional things you can do while Plex is running, like using a temp monitoring app.

Thank you for the response, Its averaging 45°C so i don't suspect heat is an issue Plex is basically just streaming movies/shows stored on a hard drive to other devices in the house. I have used my Nvidia shield as my Plex server in the past which is just an android tv box i would guess the AMR5 is at least as capable as a android tv box. Again thank you much. Perhaps i received a faulty pc.

Hopefully others, including barry777, who is with tech support for this brand, will have some ideas of what may be causing it. Barry's kind of new on here, so I'm not yet sure if he's off during the weekends like the admin is, but there are others with some technical knowledge on here that may be able to help as well.

That's a Windows setting. They have hidden this in Windows 11 for some reason. By default, it goes into hibernate at exactly 3 hours even if you have it set to not sleep. You need to open the old Control Panel applet to adjust this and change Hibernate to Never.

You can try this step: Control Panel - Power Options - Edit Plan Settings - Change Advanced Power Settings, expand Hard Disk, then expand Turn off hard disk after this time event, set (minutes), fill in the maximum number.

Have you checked the event logs to see why that's happened?

It may be that the hard disk has entered sleep mode, we recommend that you follow the steps below. We look forward to your reply whether it is resolved.

As I said, as shipped, the unit has Hibernate set to 3 hours even when sleep is off. Open Control Panel/Power Options and disable hibernate.

From Control Panel, you would need to edit the power plan, then click on Advanced Options
