ACEPC GK1 Fan Stopped Working

I've had this mini PC for about a month now, using it in my shop for lite SketchUp work. At first, the fan would turn on occasionally under load when I first got it. But now, the fan does not run at all. I opened the unit to verify. I thought it might be a Windows update problem, so I changed the boot order back to booting from the eMMC which still contains the original image I received it with. Still nothing. Any ideas?

You can download this file to solve the problem. The EC file controls the AK1's light and fan speed. If it still doesn't work, please contact us.

Thank you. Just to confirm before I try it, this will work on the GK1 model also?

I applied the update as described. Got the "Update EC Rom Successfully." Now the unit seems to be dead. No video signal. The LED comes on and stays red instead of the usual blue color. Please help. :(

I discharged the BIOS as described, for several minutes. My GK1 is still displaying the same behavior. No video output. After plugging it in, without pushing the power button, the LED lights up and remains red. Previously when it was working, after plugging the unit in, the LED would briefly light up blue, go out and then could be powered on. At this point, it seems like the EC update bricked the unit.

It may be a problem caused by the motherboard. You cannot perform this operation. Please contact the after-sales mailbox: service@iacepc.com
