ACEPC AK1 - HDMI Displays noise until I reseat the HDMI

Brand new ACEPC AK1 from Amazon.
When I change the source on my Samsung TV away from the ACEPC for long enough and then return to the ACEPC, all I get is HD static. In order to get it working I have to unplug and reseat the HDMI in the ACEPC.
The ACE PC is on and running. (Power plan is "never power off".)
I verified that all my TV HDMI ports are working.
I tried a different HDMI ports on the ACEPC and on the TV.
I tried a known good cable.
I have an Amazon Firestick installed on the TV, which works fine in all HDMI ports.
Sounds defective to me... Ideas?
