USB SSD drive not showing up in file manager

I have a Samsung T5 1tb SSD connected to a USB 3.0 port. It shows up in device manager with notation "..improve performance with USB 3.0 connection". It is not findable in File Manager. Is this fixable or do I need a different SSD?

Does it show in Disk Management (right click This PC, click Manage)?

A new SSD needs to be viewed in Disk Management, and a new partition needs to be created before it can be displayed on the computer
