Greetings all,

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I just got my minipc with board revision "GK1_v23 2020.09.04" and the 128GB 2.5" SATA HooDisk and pre-installed as well. I too was surprised to find no onboard eMMC and a 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD, so that already threw a small wrench in my original plans for this machine.

Anyways, I purchased a 512GB Sabrent Rocket Nano 2242 m.2 NVMe Gen3x4 drive in to install in this and the BIOS will not even pick it up at all. The hardware is unable to see the disk at the lowest hardware level. I checked and it would not show in Linux / Windows / Gparted / Disk Management / etc.

Is there a BIOS update or something I can do to resolve this?

If I am limited to a single 2.5" SATA SSD I am going to be disappointed in an otherwise perfect little unit for what I want to do with it.

Hello, it supports M.2 sata 2242 hard disk, we have pre-installed this hard disk for you, you can use 2.5SATA hard disk to expand.
This is the tutorial for installing the hard disk:

Thank you for the video, but the slot on my board does not seem to match up to the m.2 SATA dual slots that most SSD cards have.

Will m.2 SATA SSD that is keyed as a B+M SSD card still work in my unit's M key slot?

See the picture of my board I took below:
here is the card slot on my motherboard. it looks like it is meant for m.2 NVMe SSD with M key slot.

Hello, both SATA and NVME can use this slot, but only SATA hard drives can be recognized.

Yes, I can confirm that my new 512GB m.2 SATA SSD with M+B keying (2 notches on the contacts end of the card) does work as expected. THANKS! :)

Hi,

Sorry but a bit confused here. Admin stating it would not be recognised by BIOS but it seems to work anyway?

I was hoping to add an M.2 SSD 2242 to my GK3, is it a possibility?

Thanks

Hello, the new hard disk needs to be partitioned before it can be reused. Please check the partitioning operation:
