SSD Drive Update

Post by Wjam29 »

Hi,

I bought a Crucial P2 M.2 2280 1TB drive to update my CK2 however I cannot get the bios to see it. Has anyone managed to update their drives?

Many Thanks

Will.

Hi, a new hard drive needs to be partitioned when first used. You can do this under the system, or if you are using this drive as a system disk, then you can partition it under the PE system.
A detailed tutorial for you:

Hi, thanks for the swift response, is it normal that the BIOS doesn’t actually see the disk until the format process is followed?

Many Thanks

Hi,

Do you have any other links for the WinPe ISO file, the ones in the video no longer work.

Many Thanks

Of course, this is normal. Because the BIOS does not yet recognize the "hard disk"

This is the system you need Win10_2004_Pro:

Hi,

Thanks for the image file, booted from it and no drive found.

I guess my drive is not going to work, the one I want to use is a NVME M.2 SSDm key and the one that’s in there is a SATA m.2 SSD. According to the specs it should work?

Many Thanks

Will.

Just reading the conversation here. If you can't get the BIOS to see it, I wouldn't expect it to work. any idea why it can't be seen? Have you tried reseating it in the slot? Can it put it in another computer and see if it works there?

Hi,

Yeah works fine in another pic, I think it’s because it’s a NVME m.2 and not a SATA m.2 which is the type currently working in there.

I will look to swap the drive for a SATA version.

Many Thanks

Will.
