GK3V - "Zoom" requirements not met for virtual background

Post by MattMor »

Hi everyone,

I bought a new GK3V a few days back for my wife and her little work-from-home business, and a 2k webcam. Everything is fine with the GK3V, it's quick and nice to use. My wife doesn't wanted an expensive laptop, she wanted a Mini PC.

Buuut... today my wife tested the webcam in Zoom, and when she tried to use a virtual background, the message "your system doesn't meet the requirements" appeared. According to the Zoom requirements for virtual background, it doesn't look like the GK3V might be sufficient.

Even our old and shitty Dell Chromebook 11 (Wolf) can easily handle virtual background in Zoom. This Chromebook is running Windows 10 64bit 21H1 and consists of an Intel Celeron 2955U - 4GB RAM - 16GB SSD - WebCam - HDMI. (The 16GB SSD is already filled up with Windows 10, not even Windows Update are possible due to insufficient space).

==> Back to the GK3V, is it possible to "activate" the virtual backgrounds in Zoom? If yes, how?
(I'm a total noob when it comes to webcams or online meetings requirements)

Thanks a lot, guys :-)

Best regards
Mat

Me again,

after plenty of googling, it seems I found the problem already on my own: The Intel HD620 graphics processor
(which seems to be not compatible with Zoom virtual backgrounds. Only using a green screen shall be possible)

Further comments/hints/tips are still highly appreciated.

From reading the Zoom system requirements for virtual background, it doesn't look like the GK3V meets them.

The only non Intel non "Core" processors listed show needing either 6 cores and/or at least HD 620 graphics, neither of which exist in the GK3V.
