Hi.
Wonder if anyone can help? I've just bought a brand new AK1 together with a Samsung 860 QVO 1Tb SATA to install in the expansion slot to use as an additional drive. I've followed the very simple instructions on the ACEPC YouTube vid, but the drive doesn't show. I've looked in Windows Disk Manager, Device Manager and nothing. Some Googling (with PC brand-agnostic responses) suggests looking to see if it's registered in the BIOS, but I can't see it there.
Any advice before I just ship the whole lot back to Amazon for a refund?
BTW - I'm using the default Win10 OS.
Cheers.
SATA install problem in AK1
Re: SATA install problem in AK1
Hello spencertillett
If you have more SSDs, you can try other ones to see if it is a compatibility issue
usually the new SSD will not show the D drive in the computer. You need to open "Disk Management" and create a new disk to appear in the system. If the 1TB 2.5SSD cannot be recognized, you can turn off the PC and then reinsert it to make sure it is correct. The link is stable. Please confirm that the above steps are still not recognized. It is recommended to contact ACEPC for after-sales service.

Thanks Witt - yeah, I've tried all that. No new disks appear in disk management. I'll try the support email. Cheers.

SOLVED
AK1 does not see the hdd because the SATA connector does not fit completely. As proof of this, the door did not go in completely. Inserted the hdd starting from an oblique position and rebooted, the hdd turned on and the AK1 recognized the hard disk!

Stefano, you superstar! Fixed it in 30 seconds. I did wonder why the bay door wasn't closing correctly. That's a bit of a design fault.

Thank you for your feedback on this bug design, Mr. Spencerillett. Can you take a video to show me how to insert it? I will feedback to the factory for modification and show your video to other customers to resolve their problems.
