On Win10, the "ProgramFiles" folder contains the "WindowsApps" hidden folder, which contains the files that makeup all the default applications, and it stores every application you download from the Microsoft Store.
If you choose to save the application on an external hard drive, Win10 will also create another WindowsApps folder to store files along with several other folders, including another one with your account name "WpSystem," "WUDownloadCache," And "Program Files" folder" folder to enable the function of running applications from secondary storage.
The only problem is that the WindowsApps folder is protected, and if you try to revert the changes, the folder will remain on the external drive, and you will not be able to delete it. However, there are several ways to delete it and all remaining folders.
To delete the WindowsApps folder from the external hard drive, you must first delete the application, restore the storage default settings, and then change certain folder permissions to delete the folder successfully.
Quick note: These steps are designed to delete the "WindowsApps" folder from external storage. We do not recommend that you try to delete the same folder from the Windows 10 installation drive.
Uninstall app
To uninstall the application on the external drive, use the following steps:
--Open the settings.
--Click on the application.
--Click on apps and features.
--Under the "Applications and Features" section, use the "Filter by" menu and select the drive that contains the "WindowsApps" folder.
--Select the application and click the "Uninstall" button.
--Click the "Uninstall" button again.
After completing these steps, you may need to repeat these steps to delete all external storage apps. If one or more applications are still installed on the external drive, the folder cannot be deleted.
