W5 Pro driver for windows 8.1

Post by simon »

First time first post here. Hello everyone.

As the title says, does anyone have a link or drivers for windows 8.1 for W5 Pro? Specifically, the WIFI drive for broadcom 802.11ac WDI SDIO Adapter, the other drivers I managed to find, with great difficulty though.

I don't like Windows 10, even the one that came with it, it uses too much resources and pull down the system performance considerably. I even tried enterprise LTSC version, much better but still not as good as windows 8.1. For instance, with windows 10 u got like default 120+ processes running without installing anything. With windows 8.1, u got like 50+ only and it's way less resource hog and faster too. I believe intel atom is still way better with windows 8.1, or even better with windows 7 but it appears windows 7 is totally not supported, stuck at boot process.

At least from the MS Update Catalogue, there are no Drivers for Windows 8/8.1.

Maybe try the oldest version from this link?

incompatible and no opton to run in compatible mode either

I use usb wifi adapter, work great, no drop like the one the came with default windows 10 too

Mine is 4GB/64G model, already struggle under windows 10, I imagine a 2GB/32G version would be crawling

This unit should always come with windows 8.1, even the BIOS says so, intel compute stick default windows on the device is windows 8.1 too
