Hi guys;
I had a problem. I tried fresh installs of Windows 10 LTSC 1809, Windows server 2019, and the official Windows 10 builds in this forum.
Also tried drivers from different sources; any time getting a strange problem with the System process getting 30% of cpu usage.
My system is an ACEPC T11 plus
PCB board: t8u v2.1
BIOS: T8U007_ACEPC_LOG_20190831.bin
I found the problem starts with the install of Intel Power Management IC Device, pmic.sys.
Finally, tired of so many hours wasted trying a different fixes I decided to tweak the bios.
Initially i think about cross flashing the BIOS with the BIOSTAR Racing P1. But then I found searching in this forum a reference to a file T8_V1.5_LPDDR3_S1N12B4A0_X64_20170817.bin.
Flashed T8_V1.5_LPDDR3_S1N12B4A0_X64_20170817.bin. with the afuwingui.exe, with Program All blocks enabled. And restarted the system.
Initially the system seems freezed, but after a power on/off cycle it booted perfectly.
After entering my Windows 10 desktop, for first time, I can see the CPU usage is usually below 10%. No more System process at 30%.
Fixed!
I'm curious about BIOS versions are available for this board.
and, why so few BIOS options (compared with the BIOSTAR Racing P1)?
Regards,
T11 plus System process 30% cpu usage

Re: T11 plus System process 30% cpu usage
asch75,
I'm not sure about the CPU usage issue. I know some models can suffer from a "Intel PTT EK Recertification" issue that can cause high CPU usage, and for which there is a "fix", but I don't believe it applies to the Z8350 based models.
Regarding the BIOS, as far as I know there is only one version for the T11, which is here...
https://mega.nz/file/FhoRRa7B#asdgAb7BW ... LKX9Ohck18
They have the BIOS set to be fairly restrictive to keep people from changing the settings unnecessarily, including those which could cause a serious issue. It's basically due to an abundance of caution.

Re: T11 plus System process 30% cpu usage
Hi Gabe,
The BIOS you pointed is not working fine in my T11. As I understand the T11 is the same bios as the T8.
Currently I have T8_V1.5_LPDDR3_S1N12B4A0_X64_20170817.bin flashed in my device, and seems working better.
Are there any other bios for the T8 available? just want to try different versions.

asch75,
The only BIOS I know of for the T8 is here...
https://mega.nz/file/FhoRRa7B#asdgAb7BW ... LKX9Ohck18
For reference, and for others that read this, flashing an improper BIOS to a unit can cause significant issues, up to and including irreversible unit failure.

If flashing the BIOS fails, you can only send it back for repair.

Re: T11 plus System process 30% cpu usage
i bricked my device so now it don't boot anymore. I'm waiting for a BIOS flash device. until then I have this issue on hold.
I found it starts on pmic.inf driver installation (Intel Power Management IC Device Installation).
Probably, uninstalling and blacklisting the driver to prevent auto installation will stop the issue.
But, what is the problem's origin?

Re: T11 plus System process 30% cpu usage
We are testing this problem. It may be a bug in Microsoft's 1909 system. System engineers have been notified to make the latest 2004 system.
