Hi Barry, I have the same problem with the Nipogi E1 16 GB RAM 512 m.2 Sata. I would like to install an NVMEM.2 1 TB, but it is nowhere to be explained. I think this is also a BIOS problem, since there is no setting for NVME there. There is also a corresponding update for Nipogi e 1

The BIOS is compatible with V1/E1/E2 (N150) MiniPC models.

For those who have successfully performed a BiosUpdate (Thanks @barry777) and where the NVMe SSD is now recognised: please check whether the NVMe SSD is running with PCIe 3.0 x4 or only with PCIe 3.0 x1! My SSD only runs in PCIe 3.0 x1 mode. Or is PCIe 3.0 x1 the state of the art?

TBH, I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes. To my knowledge, x4 is how many channels are available for concurrent communication, but a single storage card shouldn't see much of a difference.

Are you noticing speed issues? Have you tried reading/writing to the drive, or doing a speed test with a tool like CrystalDiskMark?

It makes a big difference in terms of transmission rates! No speed issues, but the figures speak for themselves.
My system is a E1.

Interesting, it looks like a PM981 OEM drive, correct? Amazon lists its specs as 3000MB/s read, 1800MB/s write, so it's not quite there. I wonder if the PCIe port is the bottleneck, or just the overall system can't handle those speeds?

Yes, its a PM981 OEM drive.
First of all, we need to clarify the limitation of the possible bandwidth of the M.2 NVMe port to PCIe 3.0 x1.
The other question would be how the system would run with PCIe 3.0 x4.
And reports from other V1/E1/E2 users would be helpful as to whether they have had the same experiences with this bios regarding the supposed speed limitation of the M.2 port in NVMe mode!
Unfortunately, I don't have another NVMe SSD to hand at the moment that I could test with.
