T6 Pro Cannot Connect To This Network After Windows 10 [Solved] Update

Post by theascen »

This is a Hotspot connection
Worked before most recent Windows 10 update 12/24
Wifi is on Airplane mode off
Reinstalled clean numerous times with no change
A newer driver from 08/24 keeps installing over previous network adapter
Ive rolled back, unintalled all of the driver and does not solve my issues
Ive went into regedit
Im like to try to format the drive write with all zeros
Is their a iso copy of the original Windows Pro that I can download for this device.
This unit is great Id like to try to get it back to the same state before the update.

Thank you for this information. Unless I, missing a post somewhere. It would be nice to find locate the "OEM.inf" Realtek 8821CU NIC drivers, however in the mean time, I'll fresh reinstall. Then locate the OEM.inf from a fresh install and save it elsewhere. Then after updating then reinstall the OEM.inf. It's the updates that are causing the conflict. I'll reply back after success. Hopefully this will help someone later. :D

Thank you Whats the difference right off with https://drive.usercontent.google.com/do ... uthuser=0 VS https://drive.usercontent.google.com/do ... authuser=0 seems one is 600 mb larger. Is ther one thats not bloated? Lol Im asking too much. Anyway, I could upload an image or zip file when I work around the latest wifi issue.

The first one is Windows 11 Pro 22H2. The second one is Windows 10 Pro 2004.

It all depends on the actual unit. Some T6 Pros with the J4125 do support Windows 11, while others don't. It depends on when it was manufactured, but I don't know when they changed them so that the newer ones do. It has to do with the physical components rather than just a BIOS update. I looked into this a couple of years ago, seeing if there was a BIOS update for mine that would enable Secure Boot, but because of the design it wasn't possible.

It won't hurt anything to try the Windows 11 system. If it doesn't support Windows 11 either the installation attempt simply won't work, or it'll initially work, but then likely give errors during the initial Windows setup steps.

With all of this said, if you like Windows 10 I'd stick with it. These units are already pretty basic and not very powerful, and with Windows 11 being more resource hungry it would probably not be quite as responsive compared to Windows 10. That's just personal advice, but you're certainly free to try the Windows 11.

I figured as much. I found out through system info I do not have secure boot as well. Wha wah...
In any case, I am happy with Win10Pro for the time being.
It is a Megatrend motherboard and like you described its possible for a BIOs update somewhere out there, if not a work around. Ill stick with 10 if I can work around the issue. Have you not had any problems with network after win10 update?

Nothing that I've noticed. I was using it a couple of days ago to print something, as my printer is too old for Windows 11, and I went online for about an hour afterwards using it.

I'm proud to say I was successful after weeks of troubleshooting.
Here is one solution that worked for me, and the files as promised if anyone else has the same issue.

Instructions are as follows:
  • Thumb drive
Download
T6 Pro Win10Pro Network Adapter Driver INF.zip
Unzip and locate through device manager
(23.91 KiB) Downloaded 11 times
  • Rollback the drivers on the Network Adapter in device manager
  • Manually install the two .inf files after unzipping from the thumb drive.
  • Then put in sleep, hibernate, restart, or reboot.
I also used https://www.revouninstaller.com which is a totally free and awesome app to rid of bloat apps easily and all their nasty registry leftovers that slow your system down. (Not a sponsor)

This PC stick is snappy and happy to carry right along with most of the hardest of task outside of video editing, and obvious others.

If any one wants an unbloaded .iso or image just let me know.
I'll help where I can. Thanks for everyone's input and insight.

Here is handy info if any one so desires to dig deeper.
