AM06 Pro with AMD Ryzen 7 5800U – Windows 11 Boot Issues with WSL2 and Virtualization
Hello,
I'm experiencing boot issues with my new AM06 Pro mini PC, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U and 32GB RAM. Here's a summary of the problems:
- Windows 11 24H2: Hangs on boot; only starts in Safe Mode.
- Windows 11 23H2: After enabling WSL2, the system hangs on boot and only starts in Safe Mode.
Workaround: Disabling CPU virtualization in the BIOS allows the system to boot normally.
I've tested the following scenarios, all yielding consistent results:
1. Using the pre-installed Windows version that came with the product.
2. Performing fresh installations of both Windows 11 23H2 and 24H2.
3. Upgrading from a working Windows 11 23H2 (without WSL2) to Windows 11 24H2, which resulted in the machine failing to boot until restarted in Safe Mode.
The issue seems related to WSL2 installation or Windows 11 24H2. Has anyone else experienced this on the AM06 Pro, or does anyone have any advice on this?
Thank you.

Are you using a Bluetooth keyboard? If so, try using either a wired keyboard or a wireless one with a USB dongle. Because Bluetooth isn't activated in the system until Windows itself boots, Bluetooth keyboards can't be used to enter the BIOS or Boot Menu.davinou8248 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 3:46 pm Bonjour,

Re: AM06 Pro with AMD Ryzen 7 5800U – Windows 11 Boot Issues with WSL2 and Virtualization
Indeed I was having same exact issue and banged my head on my desk for the last 24 hours trying to do a fresh install of windows 11 pro on a ACE Magician AM06 Pro with the same processor and GPU you have. Was getting frustrated especially after I tested the hardware with a install of Linux Mint Cinnamon with no issues (except wireless driver). After reading your post about turning off CPU virtualization in the BIOS, I tried this and it worked! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Previously, I would be stuck with a stuttering Windows installation ring on the BIOS screen for minutes on end. When Windows would appear, I would shortly get a bsod (DPC watchdog error code) and crash repeatedly. I was able to manually load the WiFi driver. So far, installation of windows 11 pro is going well. When I turn on wsl2, I will follow up.

I'm happy to help. I’m sorry that the problem can only be solved by disabling the virtualization feature.
For me it’s an essential feature and the pc as is is useless for me.

After updating drivers, I disabled NX mode in BIOS, then reenabled SVM mode, virtualization seems to be working for now..for the moment. If any changes, I will post.

Re: AM06 Pro with AMD Ryzen 7 5800U – Windows 11 Boot Issues with WSL2 and Virtualization
i have the exact same problem with the same 5825U processor--found on two pieces purchased on Amazon, i thought the pcs were defective because after formatting them they would stop at bios with the windows “wheel” in eternal loop.
Going by trial and error and disabling virtualization (one of the two SVM mode or NX mode flags disabled in the bios) the pc boots and seems to run smoothly- But I need virtualization, of course.
Disabling NX mode in BIOS, then reenabling SVM seems not an option, since 64bit guests requires NX mode.
I have another AM06PRO with 5700U and there is no problem there.
Has anyone been able to figure out if it is a BIOS problem or there is an update ?

8.- He renunciado a la HYPER-V .
Tendremos que esperar a que alguien solucione el problema.
Saludos
