Sorry, a little late to this conversation, but I wanted to throw this out here: Apple. They're notorious for releasing hardware that users are unable to upgrade after purchase. And considering how popular they are, I think most of their customers don't care. I have a few old Mac Mini's that require specialty tools to open, then you're still stuck with soldered-on RAM, storage, or both.

What's funny is that the new M4 based Mac Mini actually has non soldered, replaceable storage, but it's a special, Apple only form factor, so you can't buy a replacement. So, in the end, you still can't upgrade it.
It's like they're teasing those who buy one.

In general all MiniPCs supported in this forum are heading to support user-friendly exchange of storage and memory. Hence the M2A is suffering from a design error.
In case of Apple the prohibition of storage and memory by the user isn't a bug, it's a feature.
