New GK3PLUS model?

Post by 0s&1s »

Hi!
I recently got a GK3PLUS mini PC. I'm satisfied with the mini PC, but I noticed it's a bit different, compared with the online pictures. I attach a few pictures where it can be noted that:

1. The ventilation hole from the lower part of the case is bigger.
2. The CPU fan is bigger, also the cooler is black and bigger.
3. Both the RAM and the SSD are accessible from top of device. On the bottom of main board only the fan can be found.
4. There is an internal connector, unused, that looks like USB-C. I know AK1 model for example uses that connector for the SATA dock.

I'm happy with these improvements, but I just want to confirm if this is a new hardware revision or is this another product labeled as GK3PLUS.

I can provide a review for this device if anyone is interested. I measured a few things like power consumption, CPU/GPU load when playing 4K HDR 60 fps movies, or when playing games, Windows/Linux compatibility, hardware decoding for HEVC MKV files using several players under Windows and Linux.

Thanks.

hi

I have the same and can confirm it's the N97, which is pretty cool, it' literally not overheating at all. 8-)

Would you mind taking a screenshot of the main bios screen?
I'd be curious to see what bios info yours comes with (see https://minipcunion.com/viewtopic.php?t=5197)

Is the wifi realtek module soldered on the mobo? Just wondering.

Also, any tip for removing the rubber feet without damaging them for opening the case?

Thanks!

Currently, the wireless module of the GK3Plus is integrated into the motherboard. To access the internal components, you can remove the screws securing the side cover. If you need to view the motherboard itself, you will also need to remove the bottom foot pads and screws. Please refer to the following video for detailed instructions:
