When the unit is first turned on, the fan cycles on and off with cpu demand. However, after a while, the fan stays permanently on. This is so even when in power saving mode. The monitor is off and the CPU seems to be sleeping as the power led is off, but the fan keeps running. Is there a bios setting to control this?

Fan control is only active when balanced or optimized power plans used. Runs constantly when in high performance, which is ok, however, it should shut off when the decice sleeps even if in high performance mode.
Upon additional use, fan will run constantly after a certain amount of time no matter what the power state of windows is set to.
