Games keep crashing AM08Pro

Post by Joyz »

Hello,

I ordered an AM08 Pro on Amazon and received it in December. It was doing fine at first but after updating the graphics driver I have kept getting constant crashes on several games. I'm here hoping to find a solution to my problem. I'd hate to think I bought a defective product.

I have a picture of the failure code from the most recent crash I keep having while playing the FF7 Remake.

Did you try to search online for the error code you're getting? I typed some of the details into Google/Bing, and found "45d!" appears to be common with many different games, not just ff7remake. On Steam, someone saw this error on Everspace (https://steamcommunity.com/app/396750/d ... 985371941/) and the developer said it was a FileIO error. Your screenshot mentioned the D: drive, so did you run this off a secondary drive? What drive is it installed on?

On Reddit, someone saw this on Bloodstained (www.reddit.com/r/Bloodstained/comments/ ... on_of_the/) and another user suggested graphics drivers, or do a full uninstall and reinstall.

Someone else saw this on FF XIV (www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/bzsbex/ ... _occurred/) and found it was fixed after updating the game, and verifying the network connectivity.

More details might help, like what troubleshooting you've done, what SE recommends. Typical troubleshooting, reviewing the game logs, etc.

Ok so before I went to bed last night I updated the graphics drivers again and uninstalled AMD adrenaline as I saw on some reddit and other forums that it's been a known issue for that. Once I did that I was able to play FF7 Remake with a little lag but no more crashes for over half an hour. I quit the game without incident.

I then tried playing fallout New Vegas to see if it fixed the crash issues for that but as soon as I either tried starting an old game or a new game the game just immediately shuts down without warning and I'm back at my desktop.

This morning before heading to work I played Fallout 4 on the low setting. It works, no crashes but a little laggy and in the base creation mode sometimes items don't show up or take a good 2 to 3 minutes to finally appear both on the menu and in the game for placement. Was able to play for 20 minutes and quit the game without crashing.

Currently at work right now. Once I get home I'm going to test it again with some other games I'm having crash issues with, War Thunder, MSG5, RDR2 and Battlefield 5, and I'll post the results along with any error codes I get.

Joyz, any updates on your testing? If I had a game that took 2-3 minutes for an item to show up, I'd definitely lose patience. I'm impressed you were able to get things to succeed so well, though. It's kinda crazy how many issues graphics drivers can cause.

I got MSG5, FF7, Fallout 4, Ace Combat and Star War Squadrons all running ever since I removed AMD Adrenaline. I get a little lag on MSG5 and FF7 but tolerable. War Thunder is still giving me a headache.

All my games are on a secondary SSD that I installed in the mini pc. I'm moving War Thunder from the secondary drive to the primary drive to see if anything changes.

Here's the error codes I keep getting for War Thunder.

Oh my goodness...

It's been running flawlessly without any lag or signs of crashing. It's been about 15 minutes since I started playing. By now it would normally lag and then a few minutes later crash but nothing like that yet. Will keep playing for a few more minutes then take a break. I think, knocking on wood here, the issues may be settled.

Congrats, I'm glad you got it working! So did the errors go away when you removed AMD Adrenaline, or when you moved them from the secondary drive to the primary one? Your findings could help someone else if they encounter similar issues.
