Is the Barebones AMR5 Windows 11 Licensed?

Post by Groch »

Are barebones AMR5 (and other Acemagic Barebones) Windows 11 pre-licensed?

I just got the barebones 5700 version and the System Image Posted here worked great, but Windows 11 Pro is not activated and hitting the activation troubleshoot button doe not help. Wi-Fi is connected.

It is not clear to me whether the no RAM no HDD versions have Windows licenses or if so how to activate them. Thanks.

Barebones units don't come with a Windows 11 Product Key/license. It's something you'd have to provide yourself.

For reference, if you have a Windows 10 Product Key you could try that, as I believe they'll work as well, since the W11 is a free upgrade from W10.

my barebones AMR5/5800U came with W10Pro key in the BIOS. I installed W10 myself and it activated using the key supplied.

I blocked W11 upgrade so I can't speak to that but as long as the HW supports it, which it should, you should have no problems upgrading to W11. Best to reach out to Barry if you're having issues.

You can get into the BIOS by either pressing and holding or repeatedly pressing the Del key after you press the startup button.

If you're referring to eliciting the Product Key from the BIOS, you can do so using the methods described in this article.
