astrankan,

1. The maximum RAM is 64GB, as in two 32GB modules.
2. The maximum size storage for each slot is 2TB, for a total of 4TB of storage, so yes, you can install and use 2 2TB drives.

Whether it's Gen4 NVMe, I don't know. Hopefully the admin or someone else can answer that question. I know the 4500U version doesn't support Gen4 (a Gen4 drive would still work, but not at Gen4 speed), but I don't know about the 5600U.

astrankan,

I should add that, with mine, the stock 512GB NVMe drive benched at 2550MB/s and 1840MB/s for read and write, respectively, using Crystal Disk Mark. I temporarily tried the XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB from my home built W11 desktop PC in the second slot, just checking to see how it worked, and it benched at ~3400MB/s and ~2900MB/s. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I do remember I was happy that it was 34 something and 29 something, right near the drive's limit. I contemplated swapping the drives, as in using the slower one in my home built desktop and using the XPG in the AMR5, but I didn't do so, as I don't really use the AMR5 for anything for which the increase in transfer speed would be of any real advantage.

The XPG SX8200 Pro is Gen 3x4. I don't have a Gen 4 NVMe to test.

Greetings! I wanted to know if I can install a 2.5" HDD or just a 2.5" SSD and also how to do it. I didn't find accurate information, such as HDD allocation and cable usage to connect it to the MoBo.

The AMR5 doesn't have 2.5" drive expansion capabilities. Only the two m.2 slots.

i have the 5800U but the 5600U is also Cezanne Zen 3 CPU, which only support PCIe v3.0

I'm running samsung 980 PRO NVMe drive, which is PCIe v4.0 but it's backwards compatible. you can see the 'slowdown' with the benchmarks

Yes; AMR5 (5800U, 5600U) supports M.2 dual hard drive slots (supports expansion of independent graphics cards) and dual-channel SO-DIMM DDR4 memory.
Hard drive support: PCIe® 3.0✖4, compatible with PCIe® 4.0. But the speed is PCIe® 3.0 version;
Currently I'm using AMR5, loaded with
SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe Gen 4 Gaming M.2 Internal Solid State Drive Memory Card + 2mo Adobe CC Photography, Maximum Speed, Thermal Control (MZ-V8P1T0B),Black
Crucial P3 1TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s - CT1000P3SSD8
If there are no high requirements for transmission, reading and writing, you can choose PCIe® 3.0
If you are considering future upgrades, you can choose PCIe® 4.0 (slightly higher temperature than PCIe® 3.0).
