AMR5, Linux, Wifi adapter not recognized by OS

Post by mzanutto »

Hi, while in Windows everything is fine, on hte Linux (Mint) side there's no way to identify/recognize the Wifi Adapter.
Any idea/suggestion?
Thanks

It has been tested that WiFi can be installed and used under the Ubuntu system (the WiFi driver needs to be installed on the Internet), but others have not been tested so far.
You can try to install Ubuntu system

Hi,

I tried several times on my Linux Mint 21.2 Victoria installation, but to no avail. When I boot in Windows the wifi adapter is an Intel AC7265.

So I don't understand why I have to reinstall the Realtek driver (that's for the wired connection and work fine) ...

Any other hint?

Thanks

Mirco, did you replace the stock Realtek wifi adapter with an Intel one? These AMR5 systems come with Realtek hardware for both the wired and wireless network interfaces. If you have an Intel one, you'll want to check with Intel on getting drivers that work with Mint.

edit: I did a search for your AC7265 and find a number of hits on using it with Linux. Looks like there might be some issues, too, like this one found on the Mint forums: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=189342
