AK1PLUS - Bios ACPI problem on Ubuntu 22.04

Post by eros23 »

I installed Ubuntu 22.04 LTS release. No problem except that during boot boot I see some ACPI errors.

Is there any BIOS update that fixes this version for AK1PLUS

Hey!

Did you got cable network up and running?
Not sure why, but for me only the Wifi network seems to work. Got the GK3 Plus. Xubuntu 22.04.2 LTS. Also tried 6.4 mainline kernel without success...

I need help. It will not let me sign in ak1plus. I tried shift and restart then troubleshooting method. Didn't work what to now. I could reset my pc but worried about how windows will be affected. Its says cloud download but to what cloud. Then local reinstall from the device. But I'm not sure what it all means. Will one of these work like I just pulled it out the box

There is currently no Bios update, but you can try our verified Ubuntu system, which can be updated to 22.04

Try installing r8168-dkms from the ubuntu software center. Some newer realtek network cards seem to need firmware to work

I've also tried that without success. Issue already passed to Linda from Realtek, but not a real answer besides there's no newer driver available. Upgrading from 20.04 might help (not tried yet), but that's not a real solution IMO. There's also an issue with random freezes while inactivity on 20.04 - mouse moves but nothing else responses.

I've some days left to return to Amazon, not sure if it's useful for me this way as Linux will be the main OS I am using for my OpenSource development.

I am the lead developer of the OpenSource Photobooth application (https://photoboothproject.github.io/) and since the raspberry Pi are unavailable frequently (also missing some performance depending on the Photobooth setup) I was looking for a valuable replacement which would fit our needs and could be the leading Hardware in our community. At the moment I am not seeing the mini PC as a replacement because of mentioned issues.

Since we're not taking donations itself besides code contributions I have to see where my limited resources should be placed.
