Upgraded ram and now keeps going black

Post by bfc53005 »

Hello,
So I upgraded my ram from 2x8gb to 2x32gb. Had trouble getting it to recognize one of the slots. Finally got that figured out, powered it up and finally got my 64gb of ram. Was messing around on the pc and all of the sudden the screen when black. Nothing would get it back on. Powered off then on the pc, got the screen back. Works for a couple of mins then it goes out again. Any ideas?

1. Disconnect all connections and press the reset button on the fuselage for 5~10 seconds.
2. Install the original 2*8GB memory.

This may be caused by memory incompatibility, it is recommended to use Samsung memory.

I am having the same issue, Barry777 states "This may be caused by memory incompatibility, it is recommended to use Samsung memory, The 2x8GB memory that came with my ARM5 are ADATA not Samsung. This is my 2nd AMR5, not having any issues with the 1st one, this second one I put the same memory in that I did with my 1st one.

May need to change the clock speed of the RAM in the BIOS, set it to around 1333, or other low speed, at first, to check stability and some apps/games, then increase to the next setting and do the same again until it acts up again or reaches the rated speed of the new RAM.

Could also check to make sure the RAM voltages are correct, you may need to increase it to what is listed on the new set.

Unfortunately, you can't change the Speed in the BIOS. :)

If the original memory can be used normally, it may be that the new memory is not compatible with the Mini PC and the startup is abnormal.
The reason why Samsung’s 32GB memory is recommended for upgrading memory is that Samsung’s memory has better compatibility.

Pregunta:

Saludos

The compatibility of Samsung memory is better than that of Kingston.
