2.5" SATA SSD
Hi, I did search the forum for this issue and did not find it; if I missed it please direct me to that post.
I have a model AM06PRO and would like to add a 2.5" SATA SSD drive to the unit. It will fit under the lid, but I do not see how to connect the SSD interface on the 2.5" drive to the minipc motherboard. Has anyone done this?

Re: 2.5" SATA SSD
Unfortunately, I don't have an AM06 Pro to look at, but the I believe the spot to connect the ribbon cable adapter is as shown in the following snapshot, which was gleaned from another topic in this section...
For reference, I moved your topic from the AMR5 to AM06 section.

Re: 2.5" SATA SSD
I have done this. There should have been a very tiny ribbon cable with your PC. One end has a standard 2.5" SATA plug, the other fits (with some difficulty) to the motherboard. There should also have been instructions.

pellmellus,
The following is a snapshot from dd_milkshake's AM06 teardown topic, which you can see here.
Note the 2.5" drive adapter's ribbon cable connected to the system board. The 2.5" drive adapter should have come with your AM06.

Re: 2.5" SATA SSD
I got 4 of these and need a 2.5in drive as a boot drive. 0/4 on sata ribbon cables. Massively frustrating.

Re: 2.5" SATA SSD
I would PM the Admin or contact barry777 (he's a tech for the company) at barry@minipcunion.com about yours not including the adapter/ribbon cable.ryanwclark wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 9:37 pm Any suggested on how to get one as my AM06(multiple) did not include the cable?

Re: 2.5" SATA SSD
A few tips:
1. The ssd is held in place by a nice setup of pegs and clips. One side is pegs and the other side are the clips. No tools are needed.
2. The port of the board has a little flip up piece.
3. The blue side of the SATA cable (with the ridges) goes down.
4. Place it deep enough to capture the little tabs before closing the flip up piece.
