Graphics acceleration in Linux

Post by Ron_Weasley »

Hi folks

Just took delivery of this very impressive little box. Everything is working fine apart from one thing. I just CANNOT get graphics acceleration to work under Linux at all, so all video is very choppy - unwatchable in fact.

I have tried Mint and Ubuntu latest versions and various kernels. N150 acceleration is available in kernels 6.11 and later so both Mint and Ubuntu should work but they do not. I have even tried later kernel such as 6.12.3 and 6.12.13 but no joy. The video driver will not load.

Has anyone got the V1 working properly under Linux? Any tips or pointers?

Thanks

Hey Ron, nice username!

Linux is an interesting beast. I assume you're decently familiar with it? What have you tried so far? You mentioned the kernel, which typically interfaces with the CPU, but not necessarily the GPU. These Mini PCs typically come with Windows drivers, so

There's a few commands you can use to see what hardware is on the system, including lspci and lshw (List PCI devices and List Hardware devices, respectively). There are plenty of tutorials online, if you want further information on using these commands. Some links that explain how to use them are:
