Re: Graphics acceleration in Linux

Hey Ron, nice username!

Linux is an interesting beast. I assume you're decently familiar with it? What have you tried so far? You mentioned the kernel, which typically interfaces with the CPU, but not necessarily the GPU. These Mini PCs typically come with Windows drivers, so

There's a few ...

Re: How to Replace RAM and SSD in RX16

Ooo, I like the dual NVMe drive space inside! I haven't seen anything about the RX16, and Amazon only has a weird brand (www.amazon.com/KAIGERR-Computer-16-inch ... B0F1FKT1LG) - is KAIGERR the same model?

Re: Temps de démarrage incroyablement long sur un AM06Pro

Definitely not a normal issue. I don't have that model, but I've seen those kinds of issues on other systems. Has it been like this the whole time you've had it, or did it start after you were using it for a while? Is it running the original Windows installation it came with, or did you reinstall it ...

Re: Using an NVMe SSD?

pb, there were issues with the original E1 BIOS not recognising NVMe drives. You can read the discussion here: https://minipcunion.com/viewtopic.php?p=16493

It appears AceMagic released a BIOS update to allow the systems to use the drives, but there are still performance issues that they are ...

In case you missed it, Barry posted a thread about the W1 fan and some possible improvements on noise, which includes information on a BIOS update: https://minipcunion.com/viewtopic.php?t=5613

Re: Speed Internal SSD

Passmark shows those speeds are normal: https://www.harddrivebenchmark.net/hdd.php?hdd=RS512GSSD310

This appears to be a SATA m.2 SSD drive, not an NVMe m.2 SSD drive, so speeds for these typically max out around the speeds you're seeing. I don't know if the K1 will support an NVMe drive or not ...

Re: Overclocking AM06Pro 5500U

Hi Trustdagen,

What version of ESXi are you running? How familiar are you with it? What resources do you have available on the host, and what are the VMs running?

I've tried it on multiple mini PCs with great success, as long as I don't overcommit resources. It's one thing to have two VMs running ...

Re: AceMagic W1 - First Impressions

Excellent review! Thanks!

Question on the network side, is it a Realtek Ethernet adapter? Do you plan to use it for wired or wireless, and what switch do you connect to? I think all the systems we see in these forums are Realtek, and I've been looking to get Intel ones for work needs.

Personally ...

Re: KAMRUI E2 Mini PC

Hey David, welcome to the forums!

I've seen Service Guides from sites like Dell or HP, which walk you through replacing FRUs like storage or memory. I have not seen anything like that here, unfortunately.

Is there something specific you're looking for help on? Usually, Barry posts videos in the ...
