Re: GK3 Secure boot bios update

From what I have been reading, the secure boot and TPM are not requirements, but rather recommendations. Keep in mind any release of Windows 11 out there in the wild right now is a Beta release. I would not be too concerned with secure boot or TPM at this time even though the upgrade advisor might b...

Re: TPM support - Windows 11

Yes, I am aware of that. The reason I am doing the video is actually to cover the Dell Inspiron 660. I had a YouTuber ask me if it was possible and if I would show how it's done, so I had told him after I was done with the videos I am filming that I would cover that topic. The Inspiron 660 and 660s ...

Re: TPM support - Windows 11

Figured out you can get around the TPM support requirement. Pretty easy hack. I plan on covering the hack on my YouTube channel maybe later this week or sometime next week. Right now I am busy filming for 2 different videos I'll be putting out soon. I'll be using a Gen 3 Intel Core i5 for the video ...

Re: TPM support - Windows 11

If it's a Gemini Lake j4125 it should support TPM, you'll need to enable it in the BIOS. I know the Terryza brand supports it, as does the UNILPWAY brand mini. And since these mini's are all pretty much the exact same units with different branding (Think Pontiac Trans-Am .vs Chevy Camaro), I would i...

Re: Quieter fan for GK3V?

To add to what Gabe said, be careful of the lead for the front light. It's a little light bar/strip that connects to the main PCB. It's a fairly short wire so carefully take that out along with the PCB to get it out completely.

Re: What material is the heatsink on the GK2 made from?

I use this and it works well)YJ]85(%@YK`VK4D~BZO2KE.png What compound is that? Right now I am using Noctua NT-H1 on all my mini's. It performs quite well. It's too bad about the heatsink being aluminum, I've used Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on several of my HTPC ITX builds to keep my Ryzen G serie...

What material is the heatsink on the GK2 made from?

Just like the title says, I'm curious if anybody knows what material is the heatsink on the GK2 made from? The reason I ask is because I was thinking of applying some Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut onto the CPU but this is not possible if the heatsink is aluminum. It looks as if that may be the case. ...

Re: GK3V & Others -- Fan Behavior EXPLAINED

Just wanted to show some results with a GK2 (j4125/8gig/128ssd) using THIS 5v USB FAN that I linked to in the last post. I ran some tests with Cinebench and HWMonitor. As you can see, my idle temp reduced to 38c, earlier, I saw it go as low as 35c, and while running Cinebench, I peaked at 66c. These...

Re: J4125/6GB/120GB

Ah, I understand now. That's what I get for trying to speed read a question. But yeah, that is an unusual amount of NAND writes. I question the interpretation of the data. Like Gabe suggested, try CrystalDisk and see what it says.
