Re: 2.5" SATA SSD

A few tips: 1. The ssd is held in place by a nice setup of pegs and clips. One side is pegs and the other side are the clips. No tools are needed. 2. The port of the board has a little flip up piece. 3. The blue side of the SATA cable (with the ridges) goes down. 4. Place it deep enough to capture t...

Re: AM06 Pro - how to reset BIOS to factory without monitor connected

I figured it out. There are 3 red pins labeled "HW_CLR_CMOS1" located on the corner of the board near the NVME. In the normal state, the red jumper is installed on pins 1+2. To clear the reset the BIOS to factory settings: 1. Unplug the power 2, Put the jumper on pins 2+3 for a few seconds...

AM06 Pro - how to reset BIOS to factory without monitor connected

I accidentally set the iGPU Configuration to "iGPU Disabled" and saved the changes. Now I have no signal from the HDMI out so I cannot get back into the BIOS to re-enable it. Is there a way to reset the BIOS by using a jumper or something similar?

AM06 Pro reading fan settings (pwm) from linux

Does anyone know what linux kernel chipset driver is needed to directly read the the headsink fan's RPM and pwm values? For example, on my desktop Primary CPU fan is RPM is: /sys/devices/platform/nct6683.2592/hwmon/hwmon3/fan1_input Primary CPU fan's pwm setting is: /sys/devices/platform/nct6683.259...

AM06 Pro tip: keep CPU fan from running when temps are low to save power

Here is a tip to keep the CPU fan off when the core temp is under a safe threshold. Go into the BIOS and get into Fan Control. Configure it as follows: Fan Control = Auto Low Temperature = 50 Medium Temperature = 65 High Temperature = 80 Critical Temperature = 95 Low Pwm = 0 Medium Pwm = 35 High Pwm...

Re: AM06 Pro Tear Down

I removed the WifI card from under the SSD (I do not need it). Does anyone know if the antenna leads can gently be pulled up to remove it without removing the board from the case?

Re: AM06 Pro Tear Down

Thanks, my goal was to replace the thermal paste with MX5 which I accomplished successfully. I should have used a util like stressberry to show that it made a difference but it's done now.

Re: AM06 Pro Tear Down

I see now... the heatsink is upside down under the board. You are separating the HS from the CPU simply by removing the board since it is physically part of it.

Re: AM06 Pro Tear Down

Thanks for this excellent post. Is anyone aware of a video showing this? I am little lost between the 3rd and 4th pic. I guess the CPU cooler is on the bottom of pic 3 but the text states it needs to be removed in order to remove the board at an angle.
